Sowmya Children’s Hospital successfully conducted a Basic Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) on 10 May 2026 for nearly 60 nursing staff as part of a nationwide initiative to improve newborn survival. On this special NRP Day, approximately 900 centres across India organized the training simultaneously, with over 23,000 healthcare professionals from nearly 25 states participating, making it one of the world’s largest neonatal resuscitation training initiatives.

Dr. Ravishankar moderated a scientific session on Nirsevimab, a monoclonal antibody for the prevention of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infections, held on May 9, 2026, at The Leela, Banjara Hills.
The program was organized by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in collaboration with Sanofi. It focused on highlighting the significant burden of RSV infections in pediatric populations and explored preventive strategies, with particular emphasis on the role of Nirsevimab in reducing RSV-related morbidity.
